LEAF IT ALONE Play on Steam

Work smart, not hard — the $700 total

Steam’s sentence is “Earn an immense number of shekleaves ($700).” The progress cap is 700. On 4 Nov 2026 the public rate was 10.1%. Patch 1.0.8 is what turned the vague “immense number” into a dollar figure. Searches for “700 shek leaves” land here.

Earned, not the cash left in the corner

The counter tracks shekleaves you have been paid, not the number sitting in the HUD after you buy bags and rakes. Spending does not walk the counter backward. Spending does shrink the pile of bags you can still buy, so a poor order can stall you under 700 even though the counter itself is a lifetime total.

A developer reply on the Steam forum points at three zones for the leaf-value bonus: the entrance, the basement, and the pool. SteamNavi reads each of those as +25%. The route people repeat is: turn all three bonuses on, hold filled bags instead of selling them, then sell the stack in one go. Reported finishes include $733 and a speedrun Max% figure of $736.90. Other players stop at $699 or “two dollars short.”

Do this before you enter the secret room. SteamNavi says the total stops growing once that room is reached. I treat that cutoff as one guide’s rule and I say so.

The $612 reply stays in the record

One Steam reply says the achievement popped at $612. That fights the 700 cap. I cannot tell whether that player meant Senior Investor, which is about buying the upgrades, or this achievement. Both sentences stay. I will not average 612 and 700.

Questions

Does buying tools lower the $700 counter?

Guides say no. The counter is money earned. Your balance can still go negative, which a Steam screenshot shows at −$12.32.

Is there a separate $700 achievement page?

No. The official name, the description, and the cap of 700 are this achievement.

Limitation: The official $700 threshold and a developer reply reporting $612 disagree, so neither is converted into a new combined target.
