Trashketball: the 15 meter bag throw

Distance, not a swish

Steam’s sentence measures where you are when the bag leaves your hands, relative to the bin. It does not say the bag has to land in the hoop, and it does not say the bag has to land in the bin. A community note treats a throw from about six meters as too short to count. I keep that six-meter remark as a single community source, not as a second official rule.

Players who have posted the method stand by the court hoop, dip the camera, snap it level to add spin, then sprint and jump together with the throw. The porch has to be finished first, because that is what lets you tie a bag at all. If the yard is already bare, you have nothing to put in the bag, so do this throw while leaves are still on the ground.

Trashketball is not Dunk like you're drunk, which wants a basketball, a beach ball, and a bag to touch the hoop. It is also not Ring My Bell. Patch 1.0.4 adjusted some throw timing and did not rewrite the 15 meter sentence.

What I will not pretend to know

The achievement text never says whether the 15 meters start at your boots or at the bag. I describe it as “where you stand when you throw” because that is how the Japanese guides phrase it, and I mark that phrasing as one family of guides rather than as Valve’s measurement.
